한때 몸에 딱 달라붙는 스키니진이 유행하고 그 후 좀 더 헐렁한 ‘mom jeans’이 많이 보이더니 이제는 아빠들이 입을 것만 같아 ‘dad jeans’라고 불리는 청바지가 인기다. 이 아빠 청바지라고 불리는 청바지 스타일은 허리 위로 높게 올라오는 하이 웨이스트 형태에 몸에 많이 붙지 않고 일자로 딱 떨어진다는 특징이 있다.

대드진이 어딘가 모르게 익숙한 이유는 90년대 가장 인기가 많던 청바지 스타일이었기 때문이다. 그 당시에 가장 핫하던 할리우드 모델과 배우들이 대드진을 입는 것을 많이 볼 수 있었다.

대드진의 또 다른 큰 특징은 보통 100% non-stretch 코튼으로 만들어져 신축성이 거의 없다는 점이다. 때문에 처음 입으면 약간 불편할 수 있지만 입으면 입을수록 내 몸에 맞춰지고 점점 더 편해진다는 장점이 있다.
